So the long and short of this is yes. But also no. Let me explain! don’t leave us 🙁
Okay, so essentially curated content can be really good for your website as it can start to jumpstart things on your blog. This was more true in the past. As you know, more content means in general more traffic.
Now where this gets tricky is that using curated content might get you in some trouble because first of all, it’s not your content. Second of all if you don’t give the author(s) credit you can get into some deep legal trouble.
Now on the other hand, curated content can be okay if you cite the content, and share that the content is curated. Personally we don’t reccomend it.
HOWEVER, even amazon affiliate site says “WITH JUST 10 original posts, most sites can be approved for amazon affiliate” That being said google doesn’t nececarily like it. So you really need to be careful and mix in your content and make sure you aren’t pawning off this content as your own..
We’re not saying you should do it, we’re just saying it’s not recommended and it’s very risky. You could get a penalty from google as well for spamming.
Another thing to worry about is that the domain you use could actually be blacklisted.. so essentially you could stop getting traffic altogether..
Could you just use a different domain, sure.. but then you’ll have to do it again, and again, and again..
In short, the answer is if you’re careful and purposeful you can probably get away with it for a while ,but we surely don’t condone it.
